MAYSVILLE HERITAGE QUILT TRAIL
Maysville Heritage Quilt Trail
In March 2010, I opened an artist consignment shop "Where Art Thou..." in Historic Downtown Maysville Kentucky. My years on the road, traveling to art fairs, have led to many great friendships with many talented artists. I brought them together in one great shop. My experiment lasted over a year, the economy making it very hard to start a new business, but I came away from the experiment, much richer in many ways, other than financial. Seeing how the quilt trail enhances rural communities in my six years working with the National Quilt Trail, I started a quilt trail in Maysville to help boost tourism. Maysville is a beautiful, unique, architectural marvel on the Ohio River. Unfortunately, as in many small towns, the economic strain is apparent as you walk through the town. Wanting to share this idea to stimulate tourism, I approached the business owners and together we have started brightening up the town with Quilt Art Squares!!! Click on the thumbnail pictures below to check out the Quilt Trail and plan to come see us! I am working on creating jewelry depicting the squares I have designed and painted. Most of the photographs you see are the work of my good friend, and photographer Lorraine Mullikin. These are also available for sale, contact me!
***Please feel free to photograph the trail for your personal use and enjoyment. Reproducing the patterns and images or reprinting for sale is prohibited without the permission of the artist.***
The Maysville Heritage continues to grow and more Quilt Art Squares are scheduled to be hung. You can participate and help this grassroots movement grow. Orders are currently being taken and you can sponsor a quilt block as well. There are several not for profit organizations that would love to participate but do not have the funds available.

First, I must thank Donna Sue Groves! She shared this idea with the world and we all get to enjoy it! She was on hand to watch several Maysville Quilt Blocks go up and I really enjoyed seeing the joy in her face. I hope to continue to honor her and her mother, Maxine, as the trail continues!
Special thanks to Ray Young, City Manager of Maysville. He has generously offered the services of the city to help hang the Quilt Blocks. Andrew Grayson has been an awesome supervisor and makes sure the quilt blocks are hung with perfection.
Thanks go out to Clay Hedgecock and Lowell of Hedgecock Electric as well. They were there whenever we needed extra help and an extra boom truck.
I also have to thank Lowe's and the paint desk people for all your help!
