I live in Covington, VA and have a star/cross barn quilt. I made it five years ago after reading an article about Donna Sue Groves in Country Woman Magazine. I was going through breast cancer and wanted to do something amazing here in honor of her. Since then, Donna Sue and I have become wonderful friends. There is not a barn quilt trail here in Alleghany County, but Donna Sue does include me in the tourism map of Barn Quilts. I think I am the lone ranger out here in VA. I would love to send you my barn quilt pic and have you make a jewelry pattern for me. Your work is beautiful. Thanks so much, Gaytha

On our resent trip south, my husband and I noticed the quilt squares on barns along the way. I couldn't wait to get to a place with internet to look them up. And, yup, we were right. We thought they had something to do with family and community. We now look harder to find them and are going to do a photo slide show of them to share. So special.

My sister from KY told me about your quilt jewelry and shared your website. What a great idea. We have many talented quilters here in the North Country of NH....and I have a barn on my property with a blank wall to the street. I have to say....I'm tempted to add a painted quilt to it and in the meantime, I'll be studying the different designs and meanings! Kudos to you!

Way to go Dan! Welcome to the site and I am glad we could shed (no pun intended) some light on your barn quilt mystery!

I am an outside sales person who sells pole barns and post frame buidings in Michigan and during my "on the road travels" have seen many quilts popping up all over Jackson and Lenawee counties. I was wondering what they were all about and after reading about them, I think that they are a way in which perhaps a little bit of the heritage of the communities may be saved from the grasps of the "Electronic Stronghold." I show them to my kids now and then and let them know what they are all about.

I received a watch and a photo pendant for Christmas. I love both. The photo of the 'quilt watch' doesn't do it justice. It is beautiful and such a joy to wear. The photo pendant is so fantastic. It has my grand daughter's photo in it and is a lovely piece of jewelty as well. I am waiting for you to post photos of the new line of photo jewelry on your website. I also rceived two rings for Christmas and they too are eye catching and fun to wear. WHen I go out now I go in style.

I can't believe this has been around so long and I have never seen it until I visited relatives in southern Iowa. The only problem was that I didn't know what the quilts were all about until I got home (WI) and googled it. I think this is a great way to promote historic barn preservation programs. www.townofchase.org

I bought a necklace with Lewis County charm last year at their Quilt show. You mentioned that you were working on a new charm for Greenup County. I would love to have that one if it is available. My e-mail is nitasbabytreasures@ yahoo.com Please let me know if I might be able to order it from an address, since I do not use a credit card on-line. Thank you so much and it was a pleasure speaking with you at that show.

Wow!!! I absolutely love your quilt jewelry! I have started my own barn quilt business just this summer in PA. our website is www.pabarnquilts.com I would like your pemission to link your website to mine. My barn quilt is the Summer Star Flower pattern. I would love it made into earrings. How much do you charge for custom designs? As far as I know, there are no trails in PA except for the one that we have started in my hometown of Bullskin Township. There are five barn quilts around here now. Are you familiar with Suzi Parron? She is writing along with Donna Sue Goves the book Barn Quilting and the American Quilt Trail soon to be released through Ohio University Press. She is listing our trail here as the first in Pennsylvania! We ar so PROUD!!
